I feel like everyone loves cheese dip, right? I think that the majority of people rarely make it at home. Once I learned how easy it was to make, I added it to our recipe list to make every few weeks or so. This Cheese Dip Recipe or Smoked Queso Cheese Recipe is perfect for parties or as a snack. Prep 5 minutes  |  Cook Time 1.5- 2 hours  |  Serves 8-10 as an appetizer

Ingredients

  • 1 (2 lb) block Queso Blanco (with jalapenos) Velveeta or similar, cubed
  • 1 (16 oz) package Hot pork sausage
  • 1 jalapeno diced
  • 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chiles

Prep 5 minutes  |  Cook Time 1.5- 2 hours  |  Serves 8-10 as an appetizer

Directions

  1. Preheat your grill or smoker. In a cast-iron or aluminum pan, break up the pork sausage. 
  2. Close the lid and cook for about 45 minutes to an hour at 225°F, or until the sausage is fully cooked. Cooking times may vary; you can cook at a higher temperature for faster cooking times.
  3. Once the sausage is done, add the remaining ingredients, close the lid, and let it cook for an additional 30 minutes at 225°F. 
  4. Afterward, stir the mixture and increase the temperature to 350°F. Continue cooking for another 30 minutes, or until everything is completely melted. 
  5. Serve with chips or pretzels.
