Water Gun Fun
There was a day that I walked in the door to see my husband crouched under our dining room table. I started to ask him what the heck he was doing when he motioned...
My mother is in the hospital. She has been for a while now. A few weeks. She is not doing well but hanging in there.
My days are filled with countless visits to the hospital. Shuttling the kids back and forth to school plus their activities. Scouts. Gymnastics. Sports. All of it.
I am on autopilot. I am exhausted. I am constantly on the verge of tears because of stress and my inability to do everything.
Today after passing my husband like a ship in the night (he arrived home from work to take over kid duties so I could head back to the hospital without kids this time), I walked outside to this:
I took this one as I was pulling away from the house. I just noticed when putting it up here that my husband is in it, staring at me as I left. That makes me even sadder. I am not sure that I noticed:
I love Fall. I got married in the Fall. I LOVE the changing leaves. The cooling weather. I love everything about it.
I am missing Fall. Or rather it is passing me by because there is no time to stop and enjoy it.
But today, I wanted to grab a rake, rake up the biggest pile of leaves and just jump right in. I wanted to be a kid again, if only for a few minutes.
Instead I headed off the hospital. I did snap one more camera phone pic at the end of my street. It looked like it was raining leaves:
Man I love the colors!
I’m so sorry about your mom. Praying that she’ll get well soon.
Great pics!

All our leaves are leaving. The snow is so close. I can smell it!
Prayers that your mom is well soon. And that you get a chance to take a nice long break and enjoy the weather before the snow flies in your area.

I’m so sorry things are so stressful right now. I hope you can find a few minutes to take in the fall and take a breath.
I’m sorry you are having such a rough time. I think you should jump in the leaves! Maybe it would relieve some tension.
Awww, honey— so sorry that everything is stressful right now and that your mom isn’t doing well.

I am so sorry for your hard times right now. Don’t forget to take care of YOU. You can’t take care of everyone else unless you take some care of you, too.
It would probably surprise you how much energy you might get from taking a few minutes to rake and jump into those leaves! It could be exactly what you need and quite the stress reliever, if only for a few minutes.
My thoughts are with you. Virtual hugs to you, hon.

I’m so sorry to hear how much stress you’re under. I’m glad you found at least a few quiet moments to see and appreciate the leaves, since in some times of life, that’s the best we get. I hope things become more stable for you and your mother soon.

Hi Stacie,
I am so sorry for all the trials you have been facing. I hope your Mom gets better soon and that you are able to rest.
Just like the Fall season with the falling of the leaves and the changes in our surroundings, we must also go through changes as well. This too will pass and you will reach those sunnier and brighter days. Till then, I hope you take some time to enjoy the small pleasures around you. Do as @Momma Jorje say, rake, form piles, and jump in the leaves. Control what you can, taking some pleasures where ever you find them, leave all else in God’s hands. He’s better able than us.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I will keep you in my prayers. *Hugs*

So sorry to hear about your mom {hugs}!
Oh Stacie, I am so sorry. It’s so difficult to have a sick loved one, and then when you are in the caregiver role of running from work to school to the hospital, then back home to start the cycle all over again, it’s so difficult. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help when you can and try to grab any extra moments you can to take care of yourself – that’s critical. Big hugs.
Fall is slowly going away. I am so sorry you have so much on your plate! Sending hugs and well wishes for your Mom and family!

I am sorry to hear about your mom. I hope that you are able to slow down and catch your breath soon!
So terribly sorry to hear about your mom. I can only imagine how overwhelming it all feels just now. Sending you love and healing energy, for all of you!
Ahhh, what a really sad and touching post. I hope you got to enjoy Fall if even for one day. Fall is beautiful, it is my favorite season.
Hoping that all is well now!
Sometimes the best medicine IS raking those leaves up, jumping in and for a moment forgetting troubles & having joy. Just brief amounts of joy will do wonders!
