Universal’s Islands of Adventure Review – Family Fun for All Ages
Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida offers many activities for the entire family and is part of the Universal Studios family. Voted the Best Theme Park in 2010, it offers excitement and adventure for children of all ages.
Fun for all Ages at Universal's Islands of Adventure
Youngsters will be entertained by Dr. Seuss-themed attractions, while older children and adults are thrilled by some of the best roller coasters in the country. Universal Islands of Adventure features five distinct islands, each with its own theme. Two entire islands are dedicated to the little ones, Toon Lagoon and Seuss Landing. Marvel Super Hero Island, Jurassic Park and The Lost Continent each offer attractions, food, and fun for the entire family.
For the Young Kids
At Seuss Landing, children step inside the world of Dr. Seuss. The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! takes riders on a trip high in the sky over Seuss Landing. The Caro-Seuss-el is a topsy-turvy designed carousel that takes them round and round on their favorite Seuss characters. The Cat In The Hat ride takes riders throughout the book and throughout the house on their very own couch, following along with Thing One and Thing Two as they have their merry way. Based on another Dr. Seuss book, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, has riders aboard a colored fish follow musical instructions to avoid being squirted with water throughout the ride.
Beyond rides, Seuss Landing also offers Oh! The Stories You'll Hear!, which features beloved Seuss characters dancing and singing along to their own famous tales. A trip inside the world of Seuss' stories would not be complete with the treasured Green Eggs and Ham. Seuss Landing Dining offers just that at Green Eggs and Ham Cafe, while Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous, Hop On Pop Ice Cream Shop, and Moose Juice, Goose Juice offer additional Seussical delights.
For the Bigger Kids
Attractions for bigger kids and adults are aplenty at Universal's Islands of Adventure as well. In Toon Lagoon, aquatic adventure awaits. Dudley Do-Right's Ripshaw Falls features a traditional log flume based on the cartoon Dudley Do-Right, featuring a 75-ft drop! If riders aren't yet wet enough, Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges may do the trick. The ride features a rapid water rafting adventure following Popeye's efforts to save his true love, Olive Oyl, from Bluto.
To dry off and catch their breath, visitors can head to the island of The Lost Continent. There, the whole family can enjoy the The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad Stunt Show, an outdoor live-action show featuring death-defying feats and breathtaking stunts.
And for big-kid-only fun, The Incredible Hulk Coaster, on Marvel Super Hero Island offers thrills and screams at up to 67mph. Following the rage of Bruce Banner, riders are launched from zero to 40mph in a mere two seconds, before swirling through seven loops and flying up to 150 feet over the park below. There's no question why the Incredible Hulk Coaster at Universal Islands of Adventure was voted the best roller coaster by the Discovery Channel.
For a great day with the entire family, from ages one to 100, Universal Islands of Adventure Orlando Florida offers live-action entertainment, state-of-the-art rides and attractions and an all around good time.
