Tylenol has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents gave me Tylenol as I was growing up and I give it to my children today.
Tylenol is making several changes including packaging and the amounts of medicine that should be given to children.
From Tylenol:
“The makers of TYLENOL® will be making product enhancements to both Infants’ and Children’s TYLENOL® products. In an effort to help ensure the following enhancements are widely implemented, the company has worked closely with the Consumer Healthcare Products Association to share its plans with other manufacturers.”
ABOUT THE CHANGES
In fact, this year Tylenol is also changing the dosage instructions so this is definitely something that, as a mother, I need to pay close attention to. More on dosing:
Remember to N – U – R – S – E
Never give adult medicines to children.
Use the measuring device (syringe, dropper, dosage cup) that comes with the medicine every time you use it. Don’t use kitchen spoons (teaspoons or tablespoons).
Read and follow instructions on the label. Never give more than the recommended dose and do not give the medication more frequently than recommended.
Store all medicines out of the reach of children. Immediately following use, always restore the child resistant cap and put the medicine back into a high and out of sight location.
Every child grows. Know the infant’s or child’s weight and/or age to help determine the appropriate dosage.
