Summer 2014 with Alamo has been great. I have had such a fun time as part of Alamo's Chief Travel Moms as we’ve helped moms plan, experience, and capture great travel moments along the way. As the summer comes to a close, and with the start of school in sight, we want to squeeze as much fun as possible into the final days, the sunset, of summer.
Although going back to school is a lot of fun for my kids and they really look forward to it, I get a little sad because it means that we don't get to travel as much.
1. PRINT THE PICTURES
The picture above was printed out as soon as we got back from the trip. We always print and frame a few pictures from our travels so that we can remember the good times. Every time I walk through my house and see these pictures I remember the trips.
2. PLAN ONE LAST TRIP
We love the beach and so once school starts, we try to plan one last trip in a final attempt to hold onto summer. We usually do this during the first time the kids have off from school.
3. GO SWIMMING, GO TO THE LAKE OR HEAD TO A LOCAL FESTIVAL
These things always feel like summer to me so we try to do them a few times during the fall since we have a pretty mild fall here in Georgia. In fact, this was us at the lake last October:
Every time we go to the beach, we pick out a shell and add it our collection at home. We have a beautiful, large glass jar displayed in our family room with pieces of every beach we have traveled to.

Samsung ST150F 16.2MP Smart WiFi Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom and 3.0″ LCD Screen (Black)
Jennifer says: “This WiFi-enabled smart camera is perfect for sharing your end-of-summer summer adventures with your family and friends back home in real time!”
This is one of my favorite boxes from the entire campaign. My kids were thrilled about the Geomate Jr. Geocaching GPS because we just learned about geocaching this summer. We decided to try some geocaching this fall and have a trip planned so we will definitely be using this!
My daughters comandeered the Ocean Charms: DIY Jewelry Kit to make jewelry. We took a beach trip this summer and they made necklaces for their cousins. The girls love this kit.
The Motorola MR350R 35-Mile Range 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radios are absolutely fabulous. We went mountain biking last weekend and camped out. We were able to stay in contact the entire time by using these walkie talkies. They are a great way to give kids a little freedom by still keep in contact with them.
Now the Bushnell H2O Waterproof/Fogproof Roof Prism Binoculars were my pick and I added these because I think that everyone really needs a pair of binoculars if they are going to travel. We took ours with us to New York City a few weeks ago and loved using them around Times Square. We also used them in Central Park and had such a great time seeing things that we might not have otherwise seen.
The Samsung Smart WiFi Digital Camera is the perfect addition. I am constantly taking pictures and I don't always remember to upload them to my computer. This camera can now do that for me and that means I will always have my pictures with me.

We are still on summer vacation till Wednesday this week and we are definitely trying to make the most of our last few days. I like the idea of one last trip, though. I might do one on their half day at the end of Sept.
Those binoculars look like a lot of fun. Day or night!
Great tips! We need to be better about printing our pictures. We take tons but then they just stay on the computer and rarely get looked at. I need to print a bunch and start putting them in albums.
What a great kit! I would love a wi-fi enabled camera.
We got most of our traveling in early this summer. I wish we’d had time to take one “final” trip before school started last week!
I’m loving this kit! I really would love to have the wifi enabled camera!
I could use the Samsung digital camera! I am the worst about forgetting to upload and print pics. I have lost so many pictures when devices tore up!
It is hard once school starts because you are so limited in when you can travel. I guess it will be back to weekend day trips for us!
Swimming sounds like a good idea to cool off… it has felt like over 100 here in Florida recently!
I love these ideas! We are trying to hold on to every last minute of summer around here! One more beach trip for us!
We are going on one last trip to celebrate summer. Plus, we’ll still go to the beach in September!
So many great thoughts here. I want to stretch summer out for as long as possible, and I love the idea of one last trip!
Print the pictures! That’s such a big one for me. I have what seems like millions of pictures – none of them printed.
All of this stuff looks pretty cool, but the WiFi camera is the sweetest, I think. Excellent summer gear.
Wifi on a camera? Amazing! Sign me up!
This is a great kit. I love the binoculars. I always forget to take them along when we travel.
These are some great gadgets. The walkie talkies are super cool.
We have never been geocaching! With Miss A’s new flexible school schedule maybe we’ll have to try it out one long weekend.
This is a really great kit! I would love that wifi camera!
What a great giveaway! My son would absolutely love this!
What a great way to end your summer! I love all of your goodies you gals picked out!
Sorry if this is a dupe, my screen froze up. We’d like to take one last vacay but we ran out of time. The package is nice, I love the camera. 🙂
We love geocaching and have been doing it for a few years now. I can’t believe summer is almost over. In a blink it will be December.
This sounds like an awesome giveaway! I love the quotes from some of my favorite bloggers.
These are great tips! We have two days left and making the most of it!
What an amazing box. I could use all of these items.
Seriously, Alamo puts together the BEST travel packages! I love that they encourage hitting the open road and making memories on summer vacation.
What a super fun box! How awesome! I always take tons and tons of photos during the summer!
i though about getting binoculars for trips. I think it’s a good idea for next time.
I love that you have a collection of shells from every beach. That’s an awesome idea!
I wanted to take one last trip, but hubby said no. I can’t complain, we went to Puerto Rico for a week and are going to San Diego in December.
These are great tips. I love having pictures printed and hanging them. What’s the point of having 1,000 pictures if they are all on your computer?!
I lvoe all these tips. I think our fave summer activity was swimming. And the beach….
This is a great idea. i love the items in the box. I can’t believe summer is over.
I love collecting post cards whenever I go visit a new place. They are a great reminder of a fantastic vacation.
I love taking tons of pictures during the summer. Its the way I keep hold of the summer during the winter months.
We love traveling and hope to get in one more fun trip before cold weather sets in. This is a really fun travel kit from Alamo. We do love collecting postcards wherever we go, too!
Sounds like a fun giveaway. I’d love to take summer with me.
I’ve been planning ‘one last trip’ to the beach in the city (Chicago). We’ll have warm weather for a few more weeks so we really need to take advantage of it.
This is a really great kit. We travel a lot as a family. Great giveaway!
We haven’t traveled at all this summer. …maybe next year. :/
Looks like a fun and exciting way to take summer with you. What a neat giveaway.
