Sometimes I forget to take part in the small moments that make up our lives. I find myself so busy and frantic; often running around from place to place.

Lately, I have made a conscious effort to really listen to my children. To hear what they are saying and to be a more present parent. I may not always do as well as I would like to but I have been doing pretty well.

For instance, this past weekend, I didn't pick up my computer once. I didn't work at all. I spent the entire weekend with my husband and children and we had an amazing time.

We had some great conversations. We watched movies. We played outside together. We just spent time being a family.

My kids say the funniest things to me. They make me laugh on a daily basis and at other times, I am astounded by their wisdom.
