It's almost time for school to start again? Can you believe it? That's right. Here in Georgia, school starts in less than one month. This summer has just flown by but it hardly feels right to start my back-to-school prep I need to get started. This year, we are heading to Old Time Pottery for our back-to-campus needs and outfitting a dorm room at the University of Georgia. Heading back to college soon? Whether you're a seasoned pro or a nervous freshman, Old Time Pottery can be a great place to score some awesome stuff for your dorm room or apartment. We hope that this Olde Time Pottery post inspires you.
The history of Old Time Pottery can be traced back to 1986, when Jack Peterson opened the first store in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The store originally focused solely on selling pottery, hence the name “Old Time Pottery.” However, it soon expanded its product range to include other home decor items, such as furniture, rugs, and bedding. In the early years, Old Time Pottery grew rapidly, opening new stores across the Southeast. The company's success was due in part to its focus on affordability and quality. Old Time Pottery offered a wide selection of home decor items at prices that were lower than its competitors. The company also cultivated a reputation for friendly and helpful customer service.
In recent years, Old Time Pottery has continued to expand its reach, opening stores in new markets across the United States. The company has also made some changes to its product mix, adding more seasonal items and trendy home decor. In April 2023, Old Time Pottery was acquired by Gabe's, an off-price retailer headquartered in Morgantown, WV. The combined companies now have over 169 stores in 20 states, with plans to continue expanding. Old Time Pottery remains a popular destination for shoppers looking for affordable and stylish home decor. The company offers a wide selection of products, from furniture and rugs to bedding and kitchenware. Old Time Pottery is also known for its frequent sales and promotions, making it an even more attractive option for budget-conscious shoppers.

What a great store. Great quality products and everything a student on campus will need!
I have never heard of old time pottery but after recently experiencing a devastating fire, I have a ton of stuff to replace and I need to do it with a strict budget, I will have to check them out I pretty much need everything now.
Wow this place sounds amazing. It has everything you need for going back to campus, I need to check it out!
That’s my kind of store. Of course you always find something you have to have that you didn’t even know you needed, but that’s part of tbe fun of shopping. 🙂
We don’t have Old Time Pottery stores here but it looks like an awesome place to shop! It’s so weird but of all the things I miss about school, I miss back-to-school shopping the most! haha
He looked very excited about the items that he was putting in his cart. Luckily the 2 kids that went to college are all done so this is the first year we won’t need to go back to school shopping. Which makes me feel older than I felt before reading your post. Old Time Pottery seems like the perfect place to do B2S shopping for the college-bound kids. (young adults) lol.
I’ve never heard of Old Time Pottery, but it looks pretty awesome! This is totally my kind of store. Maybe next time we are on the road, I’ll keep an eye out and see if we can find this place.
I’ve never been to Old Time Pottery, but it sounds like an awesome place to shop at! Looks like he is ready for school!
Oh what a great shop! I havent heard of it, we don’t have it over here in the UK but it looks to have everything you need!
They have everything, don’t they?! I love back-to-school time especially when it means filling a new dorm room. I have one year left with my now senior and then this will be me. I need to check Old Time Pottery out.
I absolutely love their stores. Unfortunately for me both of the closest ones are about 45-60 minutes away either direction. I am hoping they bring one straight to Tampa (where it belongs lol). While I don’t have a child going to college, I do love redecorating with all their home decor!!
I would love to shop here myself! They look like they have so many fun things for the home!
We don’t have this store near us, but it sounds amazing! Love your list!
Looks like it has everything you need! So cool! Wish they could have a store near me.
