New To Us Games From Asmodee In 2025

If you know anything about our family, it’s probably that we absolutely love board games! We have over 500 of them! Along the way we’ve found a few of our favorite publishers and companies to buy from, one of which is Asmodee USA! There hasn’t been a single time that I have gotten a box from them and been disappointed, and the games always arrive in top condition!

As a huge fan of all things Asmodee, we are always getting new games to try out! Check out below for a comprehensive list of our New To Us Games From Asmodee In 2025 ranging from Harmonies to Metal Gear Solid!

Harmonies

There were so many games I was excited to try coming into 2025, and Harmonies was definitely a top contender. Usually when games arrive at my house, it takes a few days to get them to the table… Harmonies barely made it 3 hours before I was rounding up the family to play a game of it.

I assumed I would like harmonies from the playthroughs I watched, but wow! I love it! It is such an adorable game and has such a level of strategy to it.

In Harmonies you are working to create a landscape using colored tokens. Along the way you will be trying to create habitats for your animals by making specific designs shown on your animals’ cards. From bees to penguins, every one of your animals needs a place to land on your board.

While I enjoy crunchy games with long rulebooks most of the time, it is so refreshing to have a lighter game that I can turn to and play on a night when we don't have much time.

The game is so much fun and easy to learn! The cards are so cute, and I love how I can imagine the animals in the habitats the cards suggest. Overall, I give Harmonies two thumbs up, and want to play another round of it immediately!

Great Western Trail: Second Edition

Throughout my years enjoying board games, there have been times that I’ve surprised people with the games I’ve not yet tried… The Great Western Trail was one of them! I had seen it in store, online, and had even seen videos about it on social media, and I finally decided to pull the trigger and try it out!

Off the bat, I love the refresh that occured for the second edition. It is so much more appealing and easy on the eyes… especially the meeple hats!!!

One of my favorite aspects of Great Western Trail is the inclusion of an Automa! Having an automa allows for my family to play on our own, or learn the game separately before playing as a family.

In Great Western Trial, players will be taking on the role of ranchers transporting cattle from Texas to Kansas City. Throughout the game, you will have to travel the trails, hire workers, manage resources, build building, and ultimately score the most points in the end.

I really enjoy the aspect of chance in this game. As it stands, the board will most likely be different each time you play, as well as the chips drawn at the beginning and throughout the game. These factors lead to this game being highly replayable, which is something I look for most in a game. In my mind there’s a difference between being fun to play, and being fun to play for the next 5+ years. And I believe GWT is both!

Kingdom Rush: Elemental Uprising

I’ve had my eye on Kingdom Rush: Elemental Uprising for a minute now, and I was so excited when it arrived!

Kingdom Rush is a tower defense game peppered with polyomino… aka my favorite type of games! The game can be played as individual scenarios or as a campaign that is evolving as you play more and more games. I simply love how this idea was brought together, and how many moving parts the game has, not to mention the adorable miniatures included in the box!

I don't know how much more I can stress this but I love asymmetrical games! They just add an added layer of fun for me since it makes me more invested in the characters I can play as, and the people I play with.

I love the theme, but If I am being 100% honest here, I didn’t realize that Kingdom Rush was a video game before it was a board game. I just saw a few reviews and play throughs and thought it was a really unique board game! I guess I have some homework to do in the App Store this weekend!

If you’re interested in Kingdom Rush: Elemental Uprising, I definitely recommend watching a playthrough to learn the game!

Zombicide White Death

I’ve been seeing Zombicide everywhere on my socials recently and have been intimidated to try it out because I didn’t know where to start! When I saw CMON was releasing a new addition to the family I figured it would be a good idea to start there, with Zombicide White Death

Right off the bat I can say that the aspect of the game that drew me to Zombicide was the player board. I feel as though there is a lot of customization possible as well as an abundance of player cards to manage. Beyond this, the setting of being in a snowy landscape really sold me on this specific Zombicide… because who doesn’t love snow??? Both of these aspects really intrigued me as I wanted to see how it felt in an in-game setting.

After unboxing and getting the game to the table, I have to say how impressed I am with the amount of miniatures, as well as tiles in the game, which I know will add up to some amazing replayability and hours of fun to come.. The miniatures specifically are diverse in their models and I love how I can add a colored ring to the bottom of the miniatures for easy recognition.

It’s important to note that White Death is an expansion to Zombicide: Black Plague, however, it is a standalone expansion, meaning it does not require Black Plague to play.

Whether you’re looking to get into Zombicide, or have been playing it for years, I highly recommend adding Zombicide White Death to your list!

Tamashii: Chronicle of Ascend

It’s no secret that our family loves Awaken Realms games! We’ve tried so many of their games including, Lords of Ragnarok, Etherfields, Nemesis: Lockdown, and one of our favorite games of all times: Castles of Burgundy! Tamashii: Chronicle of Ascend fits into the Awaken Realms catalog perfectly, and even better on our table!

My son is a huge fan of cyberpunk so this was a must have in our collection! From the first time I saw this game on the table, I fell in love with the art and colors featured. Awaken Realms always does an amazing job executing their themes and this is no exception!

The aspect of Tamashii: Chronicle of Ascend that I enjoy the most is the fact that although the game includes aspects of a campaign, each scenario is replayable and doesn’t require you to play the game in the classic campaign style. I really like this mechanic as I sometimes find myself bored during a specific campaign in other games and wish there was a way to virtually “skip” the scenario and get to the rest of the game.

We absolutely love how the game has a cooperative option! I really enjoy playing games with my family rather than against them. It’s a great way to ensure that nobody is left behind, and that we can help each other if somebody doesn't fully understand the rules.

At the moment, my favorite mechanic of the game is the “hacking” that occurs during play. This hacking feature is basically a mini game within the gaming experience that requires players to complete a puzzle of sorts. My son especially enjoys this as it was one of his favorite in game features in the Cyberpunk video game he played.

Tamashii: Chronicle of Ascend is an amazing addition to the Awaken Realms family and I absolutely love the table presence, as well as its aesthetic on my game wall!

Spectacular

Full transparency, Spectacular was one of my most anticipated games of 2025! It combines two of my favorite game mechanics (tile laying and dice placement) into one amazing game! In Spectacular, players will be building and growing their very own animal park to help preserve endangered species! The tile laying aspect comes in the form of adding animals to your park, and the dice placement in the form of food for the animals in your park.

One of my favorite features of the game is that each board has two sides. One side is identical for all players, while the other can be used for asymmetric play! If you’ve read my previous board game posts you know that one of my favorite things a board game can offer is asymmetric play! In my opinion having asymmetric options adds so much replayability to the game, and makes it a bit harder since you have to keep a close eye on your opponents objectives and moves as well.

Personally, I like the way the publishers made the box centered around the tuck boxes for each individual player. Most of the time, I organize my games into quick start bags with each player’s starting cards/tokens separate, so this organization works perfectly for me!

I absolutely loved Spectacular’s solo mode! The one thing that I will say with this game is that I actively need to fight myself not to go ahead. Make sure you get a firm grasp of the dice and tile techniques before starting, as these actions go together rather than being two completely different actions.

Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition

I have been seeing Mansions of Madness on the BGG top 100 list for a while now and decided to finally give it a try. If I'm completely honest, I was a little nervous about the integration of a tablet into my board gaming experience as I really enjoy the fact that game nights are usually screen free. Mansions of Madness isn’t our first game that is app driven, but I still hold a bit of worry going into a new game with this feature.

After diving into the game, I can tell you the in app experience is awesome and elevates game play to a level that would not have been possible without the tablet being involved. The app works as an automated game master which is very helpful for gameplay. Without the app, solo play would not be possible, which by itself makes the app worth it in my opinion.

After unboxing the game, the first thing that catches my attention is the abundant amount of miniatures. I am the type of person that has “the more the merrier” philosophy when it comes to miniatures. They add so much to the table presence and help get me way more immersed into the game!

The game’s theme is unique to my collection, as players take on the role of investigators trying to solve a mystery before their time or sanity runs out. At its heart, Mansions of Madness is a cooperative dungeon crawler. I’ve talked about this before but dungeon crawlers that can be played cooperatively are one of my favorite types of games. There's just something about the aspect of exploration on a team that I absolutely love! If you’re a fan of dungeon crawlers, I highly recommend checking out a playthrough of Mansions of Madness!

Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game

I’ve been hearing about Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game for a few months now and wanted to try it out. The thing that drew me in the most is the different scenarios and maps you’re able to play with in the game.

Something that made me gravitate towards Metal Gear Solid is the fact that the game is cooperative. This is a huge positive in a game for my family as we can all play on the same team when we are feeling less competitive. It also stops some of our family from “playing hard” against others…

As a fan of gloomhaven, having multiple map tiles means one thing to me… multiple games before anything becomes repetitive. The other aspect of this type of map that I enjoy is that the game is ever evolving and it takes a while to get comfortable in the game. I enjoy this because the challenge is what I look for in games, and Metal Gear Solid offers just that.

Beyond the maps, the miniatures are super detailed and I can’t get over the little box miniatures, they are so smart! There are so many pieces to unpack in this game and I am so excited to explore the different scenarios as we continue to play, and report back with my thoughts on the different scenarios!

If you enjoy our board game reviews, or are a fan of any games from Asmodee, make sure to stick around as we add more games to this post as we discover new favorites! Have any questions or recommendations, feel free to drop them below 🙂
