Makeup Mistakes that Age You
Have you ever applied your makeup and then just felt like your skin still looked terrible and you have so many flaws and wrinkles/lines emphasized? Well, this is probably because you are making some sort of mistakes in your makeup regimen. There are so many little things with makeup that you would never know can make your skin look worse and make you look older, which I don't think anyone wants. Today I am going to be sharing with you some of those mistakes and how they age you so that you can avoid them in the future to keep your makeup looking flawless.

Caking It On
Caking on your foundations and powders is a big no-no. When you apply too much of these products they tend to settle into any fine lines or flaws that you may have on your skin and truly age you unbelievably. The best way to avoid this is to simply apply a thin layer of your foundations and powders and then your makeup will look great. Consider finishing it all off with a highlighting powder. A highlighter can give you the perfect amount if shimmer without being cakey. This is one of those avoidable Makeup Mistakes That Age You.
Not Setting Concealer
Concealer is another big one because it is so important that when you apply your concealer you want to set it with some sort of powder. The powder prevents it from creasing, which you want to avoid. Creasing makes it appear that you have wrinkles and bags under your eyes, which is so unappealing.
Overdoing the Blush
You want to make sure that you not only choose the color blush color for you but that you are not overdoing your blush either. Having that bright look on your cheeks can make you look a little crazy and clown-like so a nice, sunbaked blush is the way to go.

Dark Eyes
How should an older woman wear eyeliner? As you get older, one of those easy makeup mistakes that age you means you'll want to stay away from dark eyes and go more toward the natural side. Start by switching up your eyeliner and mascaras from black to brown. Applying thick, black eyeliner makes eyes appear small and beady — making you look older than you are. An easy solution to this problem is to switch your black eyeliner with a brown one for a softer and more youthful appearance. In addition, avoid applying makeup on the lower lash line as it makes the eyes look smaller, highlights fine lines, and drags down the whole face. The eyeliner can get smudged from the bottom lash line, clearly showing signs of fatigue, and making you look older. Consider applying eyeliner to look younger like this NYX Jumbo Pencils in Milk.
Putting Mascara on Bottom Lashes
Should an older woman wear mascara on her bottom lashes? Putting mascara on lower lashes makes eyes look droopy and draws attention to dark circles. It also makes the eyes look older and accentuates those under-eye wrinkles. Go for a moisturizing mascara and only coat those top lashes.
Skipping Primer
I cannot express enough how important a primer is. There are a lot of really great primers out there for when you have older skin to worry about. These types of hydrating primers help to fill in any lines and diminish wrinkles that you may have to give you a really beautiful, flawless face.
