I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
One of the latest smartphones available for Sprint customers is the HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon edition. It differs from the standard version of the newest offering from the Taiwanese phone manufacturer because of the sound enhancement it has thanks to the Harman/Kardon technology. It is available in black with champagne highlights as an exclusive. A detailed look at the features of the phone can allow consumers to determine whether it is the smartphone that is right for them.
The HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon edition sports a full HD display measuring five inches and 1920 by 1080 pixels. It is slightly taller than its predecessor and runs on a 2600 mAh Lithium-ion battery that can provide up to 22 hours of talk time and up to 290 hours of standby time. The M8 runs on Android's latest operating system, 4.4 KitKat as well as Sense 6, HTC's user interface. BlinkFeed is included in the UI and brings all of the latest news, sports, weather and social networks to the home screen so that the user can check it out in a glance.
Individuals who are amateur photographers should find the phone's camera to be satisfying. The main rear-facing camera is 4 UltraPixels and includes dual LED flash for capturing even better photos. The secondary front-facing camera is oddly 5 megapixels, but HTC's goal is to cater to users who enjoy snapping selfies.
The phone has a sleek design that is quite similar to that of the HTC One M7 and is made chiefly of aluminum. It is in fact 90 percent metal and has a curved back that makes it feel more natural in the hand. The speaker grills at the front offer an exceptional audio experience when combined with the BoomSound and Harman/Kardon technology.
The smartphone has some new features that the original One did not. Motion Launch is a feature that allows the user to wake up the phone simply by double tapping it. Also, aside from the home button at the top right hand corner of the HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon, there are no other physical buttons. Instead, HTC has taken to utilizing onscreen buttons.
The 2GB of RAM and 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor provide a good boost of power to the HTC One M8. There is also plenty of storage in the One M8 as it comes with 32GB internally and a microSD slot that accepts cards of up to 128GB, allowing users to store plenty of photos, music and video.
Sprint is giving customers access to Spotify’s catalogue of more than 20 million songs. Spotify allows users to play music on demand, create playlists, discover new music, share tracks with their friends, listen to songs offline, and listen to music without ads across multiple devices.
Access to Spotify allows you to listen to millions of songs on the go.
If you have this phone then don't miss my review of the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio Speaker which is made to go with this phone.
I have an HTC Windows 8x phone that I love but this camera looks much nicer and has better specs. The camera on this phone sounds pretty decent to but the megapixels on the front camera could be higher, especially for the price.
