Guide to Replacing Your Makeup
Guide to Replacing Your Makeup
I think we all know how much of a total makeup junkie that I am. I will definitely admit that, no problem. When you have such a big makeup collection sometimes you don't get the opportunity to use all of your products as often as you would like to. Unfortunately this can lead to your makeup expiring, or drying out and becoming unusable. This is probably the last thing you want to happen because then you have to throw away products that you used your hard earned money to purchase without getting to use it all up. Today we are sharing this handy Guide to Replacing Your Makeup. Did you know that your eye shadow doesn't last forever? We didn't until we did some research. Use this hand guide to replacing your makeup and we'll share how long each type of product will last and when you should toss it.
Foundation
Foundation usually lasts anywhere from 6-8 months dependent on the foundation itself. Foundations can become discolored after too long and just for sanitary purposes, you will want to get rid of your foundations within 6-8 months of opening them.

Lip Products
As far as your lip products go, you can keep them as long as you aren't noticing anything strange about them such as discoloration or dryness. Lipsticks will generally last longer than a lip gloss.
Blushes/Bronzers
Face products can last for a really long time depending on how much you use them, sometimes even years. Generally, as long as your blushes and bronzers don't look or smell funny they will be okay to continue using.

Mascara and Eyeliner
Mascara and eyeliner typically last around 6 months before they dry out. Usually once they dry out they don't work very well anymore so they're pretty much deemed useless. Always always always throw these products away if you have had any recent eye infections because then they are unsanitary.
Eye Shadows
Eyeshadows are very similar to blushes and bronzers. Being that they are powders they can last a really long time, once again as long as there is no strange odor or appearance you can continue to use them.
It is really important to keep your makeup clean and sanitary. Just know when the time to throw out old products is and keep your skin and eyes healthy by getting rid of them when necessary.
