For as long as I can remember, fall has been my favorite time of year. I love the changing of the leaves. I love the cooler weather. Especially after the sweltering summer here in the South. I love that school starts again.
Fall just feels different to me. It smells different. It always has.
When I met my husband and learned that fall was also his favorite time of year (among other things that we had in common), I knew we were destined to be together. We even planned and had a fall wedding. Although the temperature did hit 86 degrees at the end of October that year.
This year we will celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary and maybe travel a little more.
We also have a few Scout camping trips coming up. I need to mentally prepare for these camping trips. Camping is not something that I would have considered a few years ago but I actually enjoyed myself earlier this year camping with the scouts.
We need a tent and few more flashlights for our camping gear arsenal. Anyone else have a flashlight abyss in their house? We must have some place in our house where at least 20 flashlights live.
Fall is also the time where I make sure that everything in the house is as it should be. I change batteries in the smoke detectors. I buy light bulbs like they are going out of style and change any light bulbs that have burned out in the house plus on the outside of the house.
I clean. Get rid of the clothes the kids have outgrown. I buy everybody shoes.
We also need to plant some grass seed, some fall flowers and trim some trees back that seem to have gotten too long over the summer.
I have a fall routine. There is so much to do. But for now, I will just sit back and enjoy the changing of the seasons. Everything else can wait.

Yes, I like the fall too, unfortunatly, in South Florida we don’t experience the “look” of fall much.
I love Fall! Our county fair is in the Fall too, so it’s extra fun. Plus it’s a great time to reconnect with mommy friends who were swamped over the summer with all the vacationing and kid entertaining!
I like Fall, but unfortunately we don’t really have too much of a Fall here in Texas.
That is probably THE thing I hate most about living here. We’re too coastal so there’s very little color change. I can’t wait to move back to the Midwest!
Congrats on your upcoming anniversary. I’m also excited by the cooler weather that’s coming up.
Happy 11th Wedding Anniversary!!! I LOVE Fall 🙂 So pretty!!
The Fall is my favorite season too! Speaking of camping, we should plan a camping trip with the kids and hubbies! Maybe Alicia & her family would come too–that would be fun : )
I love the spring and summer…I love hot weather. I feel down that the long days are going to leave 🙁
