DIY LOVE Wall Hanging
DIY LOVE Wall Hanging Valentine's Day will be here before you know it. This month, we have this adorable DIY that you can easily make. Look how vibrant the fabrics are and how great...
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
We do a lot of DIY in this house. We love trying new products and using them to make things for our house. We paint, build and pretty will try anything at least once.
We just recently tried Textured Surface by FrogTape for our latest project and it turned out really well. My son decided that he wanted stripes in his room but he has textured wallpaper which presented a bit of a challenge.
However, with the Textured Surface tape, it was actually pretty easy to do with a just a few, simple steps.
FrogTape® is treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology, a super absorbent polymer that reacts with the water in latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, which helps prevent paint bleed.
Like I said there are a few steps required and if you follow the directions, you can get clear, sharp lines without any paint bleed.
Here is what we started with:
Here is what we used:
1. Burnish Edges of Tape – best done with fingernail, credit card or a plastic squeegee. This ensures proper adhesion on all edges.
2. PaintBlock® Technology – This technology can be pre-activated with water by wiping the edges of the tape with a damp cloth. *Note – this step is required when using non-water based paint.
3. Make sure surface you are taping is dirt and dust free to ensure proper adhesion.
4. Avoid stretching the tape while applying to the surface to prevent the tape from lifting.
a. This is especially relevant on curved and round surfaces. For best results, make sure there aren’t any gaps between the surface and the tape.
5. Choose the right tape for your project!
a. Any freshly painted surface (1-3 days cure time), wallpaper, finished wood and other delicate surfaces, use FrogTape® Delicate Surface
b. Any textured surface should require FrogTape® Textured Surface Sharp Paint Line Solution Kit
c. For all other surfaces, use FrogTape® Multi-Surface **Note – this includes Shape Tape**
6. Always remove painter’s tape while paint is still wet.

Frogtape is all I use. I balk at the commercials with other brands saying, “I’m a painter, it’s all I use!” when I AM a painter and artist and i know which one actually performs!
Frog Tape is my go-to whenever we paint. I don’t have much experience with other tapes so I can’t say to much about them. A lot of my family is in real estate, construction, house flipping and stuff like that so this is what they always use.
I love frog tape! I’ve painted a lot of different designs in my home and folks are always mesmerized by how clean my lines are. I don’t have any textured surfaces, so I’ve never used the liquid filler stuff, but now that I know it exists, I’ll be sure to pick some up next time I need it!
I have heard of his. I will keep this in mind when redo my bathroom.
You got me excited! My son loves duck tape, I thought this was a relative! But this is good to know as our apartment is overdue for a paint job!
thanks,
Mitch
I love Frog Tape! It works just as well as advertised. I wouldn’t use any other brand.
Oh wow! That’s neat. I hadn’t heard of frogtape before.
I can’t believe you were able to get those lines on burlap! That is so awesome! I didn’t realize they made something for texture. Now I just need to figure out what I can paint.
Oh this is perfect! We are planning on painting all our bedrooms and living room in the next few months so this would be super helpful!
thats really amazing. It’s hard enough getting straight lines on smooth surfaces
I have never used frog tape, but now I want to, just so I can create something fun!
I haven’t used Frog Tape before but plan to paint a couple of rooms over the next few months. I’ll have to get some!
IT is so hard to paint straight lines. THanks for sharing this, might make diy a little easier!
I’ve never heard of this brand, thanks alot for sharing, you have some great tips!
I am really impressed with how clean that line is! I haven’t heard of frog tape before, but I will definitely be on the lookout for it now!
that is quite an interesting technique. I will definitely be looking out for that
How fun to create a textured surface. This post reminds me it’s time for me to paint though…I’ve been putting it off. 😉
FrogTape is coming out with some awesome new products! I need to think of some projects so I can use them
That sounds really cool. I’d love to see how it turned out.
My friend recently did a herringbone wall in her nursery with tape and it was adorable. Thanks for the tips!
I can’t believe how great your lines came out! What awesome tape!
That tape looks awesome. We always use the green frog tape, I’ve never seen the textured before. I want to see the finished room!
I love Frog Tape. I had so much painting to do at our old house and freehand techniques around trim are a joke. I’ll use tape andy day.
I see so many in the comments saying how much they love frog tape. I must be missing out- I never tried it! Will have to fix that soon!
Really cool! I’ve always wanted to do stripes on our walls. This would help me not screw it up!
I love frog tape we just did our wall. Your project looks great!!
Wow! I have always seen Frog Tape, but I have never bought it! I will have to keep it in mind for the next DIY project!
Thanks for the review, it was most helpful. We are planning our total house renovation and have been looking into the easiest and best ways to do each project. I have not tried frog tape yet but have been scared of doing some desired projects due to paint bleed I have experienced with other types of painters tape in the past. I am going to start with a small project first to make sure I got it down right as to making sure we have no paint bleed.
