Experience More Together with Facebook Portal
Facebook Portal is a home video communication device that makes it easier to connect with the most important people in your life, and share the little everyday moments that relationships are built on. Connecting through Portal feels less like being on a video call and more like being together in the same room, even when you're miles apart. You truly do experience more together with Facebook Portal. We hope that you enjoy this Experience More Together with Facebook Portal post.
Features of Facebook Portal
- Move around and talk freely with Smart Camera: With Smart Camera, you don’t have to worry about being out of frame. Whether you’re moving around the kitchen, prepping dinner or chasing the kids through the living room, Smart Camera adjusts to follow the action. And as more people enter a room, Smart Camera automatically widens to keep everyone in view, so you don’t miss a moment.
- Private by design: Facebook doesn't listen to, view or keep the contents of your Portal video calls. Calls on Portal are encrypted, so conversations stay between you and those you're calling. You can also completely disable the camera and microphone with a single tap, or block the camera lens with the camera cover provided.
- Connect with friends, even if they don't have Portal: Easily call friends and family on Messenger — calls can be made seamlessly to and from smartphones and tablets. And you can bring up to six other people into a group call.
- Alexa built-in: Portal has Alexa built-in, so you can ask a question, set a timer, add items to your shopping list, control your smart home or more. Just ask.
- Experience more together with Facebook Portal: With Portal, story time will never be the same. With music, animation and augmented reality effects, Portal lets you become some of your children’s favorite characters as you read along to well-loved stories. And if friends or family also have Portal, you can listen to your favorite music together as if you were in the same room, without delays or feedback.
- Stay close with Superframe: When you’re not in a call, Portal can display your Facebook photos and videos. You can also see when your closest contacts are available to connect, and get birthday reminders.
- Active Facebook account required for product use.

That looks like a great gadget. I love any new technology so I’ll definitely take a closer look at this as it looks like it would make a great Christmas Gift for our Daughter.
Technology is growing so fast, I have a hard time keeping up! Thank you for the review; I’ll have to take a closer look!
Wow, this is so cool. I always learn so much from your posts 🙂 I need to look into this for sure.
I’ve not heard about this but love new technology related things so thank you for shedding some light on the facebook portal. I now would love to have this too especially for its camera functions.
I’ve not seen this before! It looks fab and perfect for people like us who have family in different parts of the world.
Isn’t technology amazing? This sounds like a great way to stay connected with people that don’t live close to us.
what a cool system facebook created! so great for keeping in touch with long distance friends and family!
i saw a commercial for this recently. i think its a great idea and glad its available for families to use around the holidays
I’m not familiar with Facebook Portal, but it sounds cool. The privacy features are really important. This would make an excellent Christmas gift.
I’ve been reading a lot about this portal. From what I’ve been reading, it’ll be great for keeping in touch, especially over the holidays. I was thinking of these for our service members too 🙂
I’ve been hearing so much about this. I really want this myself. I think it would be so neat!
This is something I could really use! I need to get one after Christmas because it is super cool!
Now this is a cool way to keep in touch. I think my daughter and I would be able to use this for work and chatting.
I saw a commercial for it the other day and was intrigued. Have to make a trip into Best Buy and try one out for myself!
I need to get this. Since we moved I don’t get to see my family as much. It would be great to catch up in person per se.
We use Facebook a lot in our family. Very often we use video chats as we travel a lot. We should add this device on our must have list!
I saw this recently on a commercial and it made me want this so bad! I think it will be a great thing to have to be able to connect with family members
How interesting! I have never heard of this before! I will have to look into it!
What an awesome way to stay connected to friends and family! I will check this out at Best Buy. I miss talking with my cousins who now live in different parts of the world!
I love that Portal! This is the perfect thing for me and my family. I live in the southwest US, but all my family is in Canada. This is perfect!
I love the feature that you can bring up to 6 people into a group call. I usually use Skype to chat with my friends and family and find it difficult to do a group call. Facebook Portal provides a perfect solution for this.
Group calling, especially during the holidays, is a great feature! A great way to connect with friends and family who live far away.
Wow sounds really interesting. This is the first I’ve heard of it but sounds like I’d really get some use out of this!
I have heard of this but didn’t know all the details! I love the fact that you can still connect with friends even if they don’t have Portal themselves!
