This year marks the 10th year that I have participated in some sort of cookie exchange. This year I participated in the Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap and it was fun. I sent out a dozen cookies to three different people and I was sent three dozen cookies as well. My entire family loved trying new cookies. We are always up for cookies.
To host a cookie exchange or a cookie swap, the idea is pretty simple or at least it was for me last year. Let me tell you what I did. I invited five friends over and everyone had to bring 5 1/2 dozen cookies plus five recipe cards with their cookie recipe printed on it. Each dozen was to be packaged on its own and the half dozen was put out on a platter as they arrived.
They arrived for a fun night of cocktails, cookies and chatting. And everyone left with 5 dozen cookies plus a recipe card in case they wanted to make the cookies themselves at a later time plus we each got to taste the cookies as well. We had a fabulous evening.
This is fun idea because you end up with cookies that you might not have otherwise tried plus we got to send some in with our children to share with their teachers. Any chance to hang out with some girlfriends is always a good idea as well.
This year Country Crock has the Holiday Cookie Exchange which offers everything you need to know to host your own cookie exchange. You will find printable invitations cards, recipes, cookie tags and more. The guide makes it all easy.
Country Crock asked me to create two of their Holiday Cookie Exchange cookie recipes for my own cookie swap and I jumped on the chance because I love baking. I also love trying new recipes.
The Country Crock cookie recipes were easy, tasty and perfect cookie exchange cookies. Find recipes and more by visiting Country Crock at www.countrycrock.com/cookies.
Ok now technically I changed this recipe just a little because my son accidentally threw in all of the white chocolate chips into the mixture but the recipe can be found here:
These cookies are delicious and we are planning to make them again this weekend.
OMG these are A-MAZING! Seriously delicious. We didn't have a single one left after the guests got ahold of them.
