I am so thankful to Relativity Media for inviting me to take the #BestofMe set visit and tour.
We have discussed the Best of Me set visit and if you read the last two posts, then you know I loved this book. I am as equally excited to set the movie as well.

An Interview with Author Nicholas Sparks on the Best of Me Set
Back to Best of Me…James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan play the older Dawson and Amanda while Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato play the younger version.
James was asked if he had any challenges having to work with Luke because of the differences in 20 years in age. He said yes “and it was harder to match his physique.” It was one of the more difficult things but he”had 20 years later on my side. And you know what? I was really fortunate to be part of THE NOTEBOOK, which was, you know, obviously a really good example of a well done Nicholas Sparks' film.” They were luckier to have a wide age gap between Ryan and James and Rachel and Jenna.”This is trickier because it's only twenty years.”
James said he looks younger than he actually is. ” So, it's a tough first sell, but Luke [Bracey] and I get together early on and we realized, look,we're not carbon copies of one another and I don't think the audience needs to see that….” The two actors worked together to get the same mannerisms. James tried to get his voice in the same deeper register.They would quiz each other to see what mannerisms would work best for the two of them. They would ask each other how the character would behave.
Michael Hoffman(director) had everyone take this test. It was a 25 question test to see what you would do or react in certain situations.The two fellas were in the 85% compatible. “We got on the same page…..”
When Luke Bracey was asked a similar question, his response was,” I really enjoyed it. James and Isat down a couple of times before we started shooting andwe just talked about tha accent obviously.” Luke is from Australia and neither was from the south so they had to develop the southern accent! Luke's is a bit different from James's” because we wanted it to be nice and subtle.”“We worked on small, physical things, but we both agreed that he comes a long way from when I play him to when James is.” Both actors wanted to be able to leave room for growth in the character they both played.

How cool! This sounds like it’s going to be an awesome movie. I can’t wait to see it.
This is a neat idea to compare the older and younger couple. I will look for this movie when it comes out for a date night.
I have not heard of this movie but it sounds like a great concept. I do like the idea of comparing an older generation with the younger generation. Sounds like a movie I would love.
This sounds like my kind of movie. The dynamic between the present and past sounds interesting. It must have taken a lot of work to match their behaviors and looks!
I think this is going to be a lovely movie. I cannot wait to see it. I love chick flicks.
I just adore movies like this- I still remember seeing The Notebook in theaters 4 times! I can’t wait to catch this one on the big screen.

I just heard of this movie! What a fun interview. I think hearing the perspective of the actors brings a new level to the movie.
