Porsche Experience Center Atlanta
Many auto enthusiasts have a bucket list that includes driving a real performance car on a real track. I was one of them but I crossed an item off of my bucket list and you can do the same by visiting the Porsche Experience Center Atlanta (PCE). Opened in 2015, PCE is a 27-acre, four-floor complex whose main attraction is a 1.6-mile track where visitors can take a new Porsche for a spin. The center isn’t just for gearheads. Anyone over 18 who aspires to drive a Porsche can for the day at PEC Atlanta. There are a lot of great Porsche Experience Center Atlanta reviews to check out about this place. We hope that this Porsche Experience Center Atlanta Georgia post inspires you.

The Porsche Experience Center is mainly intended to demonstrate the stability, performance, and safety of Porsche’s cars under actual road conditions. The Porsche Experience has another purpose: helping participants walk away better drivers while spending an exhilarating time driving high-performance cars.
Track Design & Engineering
The PEC track was designed by renowned architect Tilke Engineering, who built just about every Formula 1 locale. It features five different adrenalized sections: the Dynamics Area, which simulates maneuvers encountered during daily driving, the Handling Circuit, a one-mile course that mimics winding roads, the Low-Friction Circle, where drivers discover the Porsche’s oversteer capacity, the Low-Friction Handling Circuit, which comprises tight curves and on and off-camber corners and the Kick Plate (the only one in North America), which tests the controls in a skid or spin.
The Cars and Courses
There’s also an off-road track for getting down and dirty in a Cayenne or Macan SUV. Drivers can look forward to a generous 90 minutes behind the wheel. A Drive Coach will be riding a shotgun to provide in-depth instruction and answer questions. Before the drive, they offer a brief orientation to learn about the participant, what the participant aims to accomplish, and the car that will be driven. This will help the Drive Coach tailor the Porsche Experience Atlanta to each driver's interests, whether offroading or navigating sharp, snaking curves.
These one-on-one coaches, who are active race car drivers and professional drivers, cull their expertise from noteworthy accomplishments. These include wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona, 24 Hours of Le Mans, and 12 Hours of Sebrings.
What do I wear to the Porsche Experience Center?
The Porsche Experience Center merely recommends wearing comfortable, seasonal clothing. Guests are allowed to wear shorts, and closed-toed, soft-soled shoes, such as sneakers or driving shoes.
Book Your Own Porsche Center Experience
The Porsche Experience must be booked in advance. (Advance Reservations are also mandatory to enter the building.) Once it’s time to jump in, buckle up, and hit the gas, there’s a smorgasbord of more than 75 Porsches to choose from for the drive. There’s also a selection of manual and automatic transmissions. On the fence about which car to drive? This dilemma can resolved by driving two Porsches back-to-back. (For instance, rear versus mid-engine.) Participants can catapult around the track, but not so fast that the ride requires emergency crews, helmets, or fire suits.
Inside the Porsche Experience Center
Inside the vast complex of the Porsche Experience Center Atlanta, more goodies await the car enthusiast. Visitors can also spend 30 minutes trying their hand at one of six sophisticated driving simulators at the Experience Center. Participants can choose from 17 cars with highly authentic physics, including the 911-R, 918 Spyder and the 917/30 – Can Am, 1973. Guests can also choose to lay virtual rubber at one of 18 simulated international tracks, including Daytona, Le Mans, and Monaco. Weather conditions can be added to up the ante. The race can be against the clock, against other drivers, or simply for fun.
In its Heritage Gallery, the Porsche Experience Atlanta offers a tantalizing array of Porsches from private collections, along with vehicles from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. Some of these museum pieces, from Porsche’s racing and street lines, include race cars such as the 1,100 horsepower 1972 917/30 and various iterations of the 911. There is also the Classic Center Workshop, which will restore your classic Porsche to vintage condition.
Luxury Cars for Sale
The Human Performance Center is another highlight. Attendees’ reflexes and endurance are evaluated by fitness experts from Exos, who train football players and Navy SEALS, to see if their physical fitness is on par with a race car driver’s. The experts evaluate stamina and strength, and even hydration and nutritional state. The Performance Center provides several options, from a 90-minute assessment to their 12-month executive plan.
For Porsche nerds, there’s even a mini Porsche reference library. It can help research everything from minutia about a specific vintage performance car to gathering information for a blog. Library access is by appointment, only.
Dining & Drinks
A day at the Porsche Driving Experience is sure to make appetites go into overdrive. Visitors can make pit stops at the center’s two renowned restaurants to satisfy their hunger. The Carrera Café, named after Porsche’s iconic model, is a small, casual bistro for those who want to grab coffee or a quick snack. Visitors can enjoy an assortment of hot and cold beverages, along with house-crafted sweet and salty desserts. Seasonal fare is offered too.
For more upscale dining, stop by Restaurant 356. The restaurant’s name pays homage to the first Porsche production model, the Porsche 356. The food draws from a wide variety of influences, including French, Californian, Polish, and Southern cuisine. Patrons can savor their meal while enjoying a spectacular, panoramic view of the track and the nearby Runway 826 of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The dishes served at Restaurant 356 are made with local and sustainable ingredients.
