Supplies
PRO TIP: Grab different laces, embellishments and various size cones to build your Christmas tree centerpieces. Consider doing 5-10 trees at one time for a complete centerpiece.
Directions
- You can use store bought cone shaped piece for this craft or you can also make one from cardstock paper. Let’s start with crafting the items to decorate the tree. I’m using felt fabric to make spiral rolled flowers. Simply cut out spiral patterns from felt fabric and cut scalloped borders if you want to.
- Roll the spiral felt cut out from its outer end and keep rolling towards the center of the spiral. After reaching the center glue the rolled part with the center to secure the rolled pattern. Similarly create 2 or more spiral rolled flowers.
- I used 18 gauge golden craft wire to create a star pattern. Decide any simple shape for the star and simply use craft pliers and wire to make one.
- Determine a size for the tree and cut out a quarter of a circle from a cardstock paper.
- Roll the quarter circle cardstock to form a cone shape. Apply glue on the overlapped parts of the cone cardstock to secure the cone shape.
- Grab a burlap fabric strip or burlap lace to wrap the cardstock cone. Start wrapping the cone from its top edge.
- Continue to roll towards the bottom side of the cone. Apply glue after each wrap to make sure that the wrapping is nice and secure.
- Now grab all the items selected and crafted to decorate the cone tree.
- You can decorate the cone tree however you want. Wrap it with a thin lace, add beads, felt flowers etc. I’ve decorated the bottom part of the cone with lace and felt flowers.
- The top part of the cone seemed empty, so I added some sequins.
- Attach the wire star (or you can also use a store bought star charm) on the top edge of the cone Christmas tree and done!
