Read a book. Find a great hobby and embrace it. Head to the gym. Walk around your neighborhood. Even if it's just 30 minutes, I carve out some time for myself every day. Setting personal boundaries is extremely important to avoiding negativity. I have a friend who constantly complains and those conversations are so emotionally draining that I try to limit them now. By setting boundaries and cutting extremely negative people out of my life, I have been able to avoid a lot of the negativity that I found myself drawn into earlier in life.
It's time to get real about your schedule. Do you spend an hour or two on Facebook every day? Some of these time wasters can derail an entire day. Every week I make a list of what I need to get done that week and then I create a to-do list for each day. I have very specific goals that I want to accomplish each week. Writing them down makes me more accountable and prioritizing each item means I get everything done in the time that I need to do it.
Balance, at least complete balance, might very well be a myth. However, if we look at balance as an ongoing process, another one of our goals to be achieved, we can find a sort of balance that works for us and our lifestyle. 2017 was a rough one…not because good things weren’t happening, but I was working myself way too hard. I can definitely feel the effects still. But I committed myself to to taking better care of myself this year. Sleeping a reasonable number of hours, eating food from my fridge and not a drive-thru, those types of easy changes that make a huge difference. Sounds like I found another easy change that will make my health so much better.
These are all great tips. I also like to add in yoga. It helps me calm down and get in tune with myself.
I do think finding joy in the little everyday things is beneficial. Right now taking some time to enjoy the pleasant weather would be nice.

This is the first time that I heard this and looks great for me such a great suggestion.
I’ve always heard balance is the key to life, and it’s so true in many areas of life. I’m really struggling to find balance since starting my first full-time remote job six months ago today! Seems like I never have time for anything but work, but I’m still trying to get back on track with blogging and sewing/quilting. I definitely need a better work/life balance!
