Pink and White Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ingredients
*Reserve 2 ounces of the white chocolate to dye pink for the drizzle
Directions
- So how do you make white chocolate covered strawberries? Thoroughly wash and dry your strawberries. To be certain they were dry I used a paper towel on each berry, including the green tops before dipping. You will want them to room temperature before dipping.
- You will want to do one chocolate at a time and let set up before adding the next. We started with the milk chocolate. Melt your first chocolate according to the package instructions. Have a tray lined with wax paper ready to go along with your chocolate in a bowl that can easily be dipped into before starting.
- Dip half of the straw berry (the one vertical side) into your first chocolate then place on the tray to let set. The chocolate will harden rather quickly; by the time you are done with the first chocolate the original dipped berries should be set.
- Again follow instructions on the package to melt your second chocolate (if this is your white, be sure to reserve 2 ounces for the pink). Carefully pick up one strawberry at a time, holding from the undipped top and dip into the second chocolate at the same vertical side (see photos for reference). Place back on the tray, same side down as before.
- When both layers of the chocolate have fully set melt the last 2 ounces of your white chocolate then add a dash of the powdered pink food coloring and mix thoroughly. You’ll want this to be rather hot-being careful not to burn it- for the best drizzle. Use a small spoon to dip into the pink chocolate and drizzle over the berries (or you may pipe it on).
- Let set up full then cover or transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. Best when enjoyed the same day.
