The Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania is a Kimpton hotel located in the Central Business District of Pittsburgh. The hotel is housed in a historic 1903 Beaux-Arts building directly across from Mellon Square Park. The decor is described as vibrant and whimsical, and is one of a handful of pet-friendly hotels in Pittsburgh.
The Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh offers 248 guest rooms and 13 suites. The suites each have a separate living room with sleeper sofa, as well as a soaking tub and view of the city skyline. There are five types of suites, which range in size from 450-1000 square feet and include varying themed amenities. There are eight different types of guest rooms, which vary in their bed type (queen/king), amount of beds, square footage, and view. All guest rooms include a flat screen TV, plush pillow-top mattress, bathrobes, honor bar, and high speed WiFi.
Biergarten: With nearly 100 German and American beers, cocktails, wine and schnapps, Biergarten is Hotel Monaco's open air rooftop bar and restaurant. The food menu is German inspired and features items such as “Sauerbraten Burger” and “German Potato Salad”.
The Commoner: An upscale American-style tavern, The Commoner is on the bottom level of Hotel Monaco with its entrance on Strawberry street. The restaurant is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner (open until midnight) and the bar remains open until 2:00am. The dinner menu includes steak, seafood, burgers, pork belly mac ‘n cheese, fish and chips, and more.
The Commoner Corner: An offshoot of the Commoner, this restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and is intended for casual dining and take-out. The dining room seats only 5-10 people, so it is recommended for grabbing a quick bite to go.
In addition to the restaurants on site, 24-hour in-room dining is available for all guests of the Hotel Monaco.
Each evening, the hotel hosts a complimentary wine hour in the living room. All guests have access to one of the hotel bicycles to take on a ride around town. During the Spring, Summer, and Fall, the Biergarten roof deck has games available: life-size Jenga, garden chess, corn hole, and a supersized Connect Four.
In addition to the in-room amenities and hotel activities, guests also have complimentary access to a fully-equipped fitness center. Overnight laundry and dry-cleaning can be requested through the concierge, and valet parking is available with in and out privileges.
We really enjoyed our stay at this quirky, whimsical and beautifully decorated hotel. The hotel staff was amazing.

I love Hotel Monaco. I feel they’ve mastered the attributes of a boutique hotel with great amenities of a larger chain. I’ve stayed at one in Seattle and San Francisco.

I am totally in love with the style and decor of Hotel Monaco. That birdcage light fixture, houndstooth drapes and traditional bathtub all have me swooning!

I LOVE Pittsburgh! Go Steelers!! We go there every year for the games…we’re die hard. I’ve never heard of this hotel and will need to check it out, it looks like a place I would really like!

I’ve heard so many great things about Kimpton hotels. The Hotel Monaco looks fabulous and a great choice if/when I make it out to Pittsburgh. That big soaking tub would be a perfect way to end the day.

Great hotel! Excellent buffet breakfast,pleasant bar area for late night drinks. Didn’t use pool but would have if a summer visit.
