Happy Valentine’s Day! A Message From My Daughter
I have saved this Valentine's Day card / heart that my daughter Annabella made in preschool for several years. It was the best Valentine's Day present. EVER. I laughed so hard that I cried...
We are family that gives back. I was raised to do service work as a part of our church community and I really enjoyed it. I have worked in soup kitchens, packed boxes of food at a food bank, ridden on a truck to collect food from restaurants, helped to clean and make small repairs in the home and more. I have done what I could in my community for as long as I can remember. In my 20's, I joined the Junior League here in Atlanta because I really love their mission of giving back. I also give back to our local children's hospital in a variety of ways including being a part of their blogger advisory board. I am raising my children the same way. We participate in many activities here in our local community. They have helped packed boxes of food at the food bank with me along with:
Giving back is who were are as a family and individuals. We were thrilled to partner with Glad and to support their Glad to Give Back mission.
The Glad Products Company believes that communities are built around human connections and giving back to those around you…they recognized the role its products play in giving around the country, and they're proud to lend a hand in an even bigger way with Glad to Give.
Celebrity philanthropists such Tyrese Gibson, Ayesha Curry and Kid President have partnered with the Glad to Give program with the hopes of inspiring acts of giving this year. The program asks everyone to share what they are glad to give and how they aim to inspire similar actions from others. Glad aims to inspire people to get involved and to show how rewarding giving back can truly be.
My children and I made the decision on how we wanted to give back. The kids decided that they wanted to do the research and then we would discuss a few options. They were pretty set on baking something for their project so that narrowed down where we could give freshly baked goods. My daughter asked me about the place I give shampoo and conditioner to a few times per year. I deliver accumulated, unused hotel toiletries and routinely donate them to a women's shelter through a friend. My kids said that they wanted to make cookies and after getting the go-ahead, we baked 10 dozen cookies to take and had them taken to the shelter. We were thrilled to be able to bake cookies for our local women's shelter. My kids loved working together to make and then package the cookies. It was nice to be able to do something like this with them. I encourage you to join the movement and do the same. Share your own Glad to Give story using the hashtag #GladtoGive on social media. I love to use Glad containers when I make my cookies for the exchange. They are great for bringing your lunch to work. We volunteer at the local food bank to give back to our community.

We have been teaching our kids how to give back to our community. In the Summer we bring all the extra veggies we grew to the local food bank.
This is such a great program. I love to see companies giving back and we love to do our part by giving back to our community as a family too.
Giving back to the community is important. I keep a bin for donations that I will place various gently used items that we no longer use.
Giving back is something I vowed to do more of this year! I love Glad Containers, too.

I think that giving back is the greatest gift we could do as humans. It really is something that makes the word go around.
GLAD storage containers are the only brand I will use. I do a cookie exchange every month and always use them.
I love that Glad is doing this! Companies that give back, and make it easy for me to give back, are companies that I want to support!
This is a really great project! I would love to share this with my kids and teach them to always give back. Thank you for sharing!
I absolutely feel that an act of kindness inspires others to be kind. Good for Glad for working to help spread happiness!
A dear friend’s husband was severely injured in a hit and run accident this past week. I’m devastated, but so touched at how the community has rallied to take care of the family. I love that Glad is inspiring others to give.
Glad is so smart for giving back! I love this brand and I will check out their new tupperware.
