Did you know that millions of cats are in shelters across the country waiting for a loving parent or family to bring them home? See those pictures below. That is Anna and Kristoff (yes, we love Frozen) and they are shelter cats. Someone just abandoned them as kittens and while we weren’t even planning to get a cat, much less two cats, there was just something about this brother and sister pair that tugged at our heartstrings. One look at their beautiful faces from their shelter picture and I knew that they would be coming home with us. We hope that this National Adopt a Cat Month post inspires you.
Since June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, I thought that I would take the opportunity to share with you the importance of looking for shelter animals when considering a pet for your home. Many cats in shelters simply want their forever home, and Fresh Step® Litter wants to help families everywhere. Did you know that one of the biggest reasons cats are returned to shelters is litter box rejection?
Since millions of cats are in shelters across the country waiting for a loving parent or family to bring them home, Fresh Step® has joined the movement to help every shelter cat find a forever home. If you are considering adopting a cat this month or if you just have a love of cats, consider joining the Million Meow Mission from Fresh Step® especially during June’s Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. Fresh Step® wants to help. Fresh Step® Litter doesn’t just mask odors in your cat’s litter box. Instead, odors are eliminated and a clean, fresh scent is left behind making both cats and owners happy. This new litter will help transition cats to their new homes by helping to combat litter box rejection.
Check out the new Paw Points® Rewards app from Fresh Step®. Launched just in time for Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, the app makes it easy to donate directly to the shelter of your choosing. All members can earn points for their every day Fresh Step® purchases. Points can be redeemed for cat litter, cat toys, and coupons. Those kitties are adorable! I have a friend who’s considering adopting a cat, I will share this with her.
They are adorable, I love their names! I can’t believe cats are returned to shelters because of litter box rejection. The transition always takes time!
I love that there is a whole month to shelter adoption!! I think shelters are often overlooked, and there are amazing pets there to be adopted.
We adopted our cat from a shelter several years ago. There are so many cats there – I wish we could save them all!
We have multiple adopted animals in our house. I love adopting cats (and dogs) from shelters and giving them good homes.
I adopted my kitty, she is a love bug!! It’s so important to help the animals find loving homes!
I wish I could adopt more cats. I have two right now and I don’t know if I’ll be getting more. I may get one more once my husband and I find a house. I just don’t know if my cats would get along with another cat.
I so wish I could adopt a kitty. My kids are dying for one, but I am so allergic.
Hubby used to have two cats and we have two back home too. This makes me miss them. I think it’s time to look into having cats again. 🙂
Fresh Step is a great litter. I adopted both of my cats from a shelter. People should always check the shelter before they get a new pet.
I had no idea there was a Adopt a Shelter Cat month. All of my cats are from a shelter.
Your cats are so cute. I would love to have a cat, but I am allergic to them.
Those kitties are so adorable! I love adopt a shelter cat month. There are so many waiting for good homes! This is great.
This is great. So many pets need great loving homes.
You’re the real MVP. I applaud people who adopt animals and give them loving homes. Thank you for sharing. ^Yolonda
When i used to have cats I used fresh step all the time but now my grandma has them and she uses it as well!
I had no idea they were returned for that reason, I wish we had room for a kitty. The kids and I have been talking about getting one but we just don’t have the room at this time.
I have an amazing kitty I adopted from a shelter last year. I can’t imagine my life without her!
I might end up adopting another cart soon. We do use Fresh Step and it works really well for us.
I had cats growing up and think that they are such great family pets. I so want to adopt for my own kiddos!
So many animals need a good home. We can take in dogs but we are allergic to cats 🙁
They are so lovely! I have a friend who loves cats and I think she will going to like this post. I will share this with her.
Looks like a great product for a loved cat! I didn’t know it was adopt a shelter cat month. I love when people adopt rather than buy!
I’m glad there’s a month dedicated to cats. 🙂 We have a one-eyed cat we recently adopted. I wish we’d have named him Pirate. 😉
Cats are no exceptions when it comes to unfortunate situations involving a permanent place to live at. That app is just awesome, this is why we can live with technology! Let’s hope for more users and donations.
My daughter adopted a kitten last year and she’s dying to add another one to the family. Our kitty is an indoor/outdoor cat and prefers to “go” outdoors, but he will use his litter box if he has to. He just prefers the outdoors.
So cute! I always had cats growing up. Normally they adopted us! I hope lots of needy cats find forever homes this month.
I’ve adopted my cat from a shelter. It’s the best thing to do when rescuing a pet.
This is so cute. I’m not a cat person but I love kittens. I’ve been meaning to take my kids to the shelter so they can check it out. They would want to leave with all of the pets.
I love that you are helping to get the word out.
Oh my gosh those cats are so adorable!!! I would love to have another cat in the house myself!
I didn’t know about litter box rejection until reading this! Sad that so many cats are being abandoned because of this.
Anna and Kristoff remind me of our two cats, Hazel and Meep. They are not shelter cats but they are rescue cats. Most of my pets have been from a local shelter other than these two sweeties.
I think it is important that people go to the shelters instead of paying for kittens. There are so many cats that need loving homes.
Oh my gosh I have no idea my birth month is also adopt a shelter cat month. I am not a big cat momma but I have a dog. Maybe I’ll do foster cat at one point however. Thank you for sharing this. xx
