This year back-to-school hit us pretty hard. Everyone needed clothes. They needed shoes. Everyone needed various school supplies from very detailed lists. In short, we basically needed to start over for all three kids.
I consider our family pretty organized when it comes to clothes and all things back to school. However, this year is much different from the previous years. These kids just won’t stop growing and I am finding it a bit stressful to get into a routine plus to get everything done that we need to get done.
It seems as if the demands and pressure of everyday life simply don’t go away. I have more to do because everything else around me is still going on as well. I always feel a sense of relief when the kids go back to school and it’s also a reminder of how fast the summer went by. The beginning of school signifies a chance for me to look at our lives and make certain that my husband and I spend enough quality time with each child. I also want to make sure that they are getting to do the activities that they really want to do without wearing out their chauffeurs (Mom & Dad).
The fact is, as a parent, I am not always certain that I am doing as well as I would like to do. I second-guess myself and I think that I need to be doing more. The Doin’ Good campaign from Minute Maid is all about celebrating the moms and dads (much like my husband and myself) who are doing much better than we think.
Minute Maid’s “Doin’ Good” campaign celebrates those moms and dads who are, in reality, doing better than they think. That’s me, and believe me, I need to hear these kinds of messages.
The Doin’ Good campaign embraces the notion of perfect imperfection. In fact, I used to describe myself as Perfectly Imperfect because I am flawed like every other human being. As parents, we tend to be hardest on ourselves.
I want to make certain that I am making the most of the time that I spend with my children and my husband wants the same thing. Being a mom and dad is also about making the best of some of the more challenging moments and knowing that we really are Doin’ Good.
The Doin’ Good campaign is also about recognizing other parents – maybe a friend, sibling or other relative – for the great job they’re doing and this is one of my favorite parts of the campaign. I find it much easier to recognize others but one of the fun parts of the campaign is also recognizing the good things that you are doing.
Share a story about a time when you know you were #doingood as a parent, or tell us about someone you love who is #doingood.

I know lots of parents who are doin’ good. What an awesome campaign.
I think this is a great campaign. So many parents are doing good, but they never know it. I have a very good friend who is a fantastic mother, but if you asked her, she’d tell you she doesn’t know what she’s doing.
I’m so glad that Minute Maid is doing this. We all doubt ourselves as parents sometimes.
I think a lot of parents are doing better than they think. This is such a nice way to highlight them!
This is such a great campaign. I have several friends that are Doin’ Good. Especially my friend Jen. It seemss like she is all over the place with teenagers, but she is doing an awesome job.
What a great initiative by Minute Maid, parents are the day to day heroes that are seldom recognized or rewarded for the things they do everyday to keep the household running! I will check out the #doingood on social media as well. 🙂
What a great campaign… I know so many parents who could use a little note telling them they are doing good. I try to text and email friends off and on and remind them.
Minute Maid is our favorite! They have such tasty juices.
What an awesome campaign! Parents are the unsung heroes so it’s great they are being noticed for doin good!
It’s been a heck of a week! I have definitely appreciated the kid words of my friends and family that are keeping me motivated. I love the idea of supporting others with this campaign.
It’s good to know I’m not the only one that needs the reminder every once in a while. Minute Maid gets us going in the morning, and this campaign will help me know I’m on the right path.
How awesome of Minute Maid. This is really great. We love MM and have it often in our house. Great campaign.
Doing good as a parent can mean so many different things to so many different people. I think as long as there is a smile on your kids face, you are doing ok! It’s a hard job, but a joyful one!
What an uplifting campaign for moms. Sometimes we need to here that we are doin good!
My friend is a single parent of four kids. The range in ages from 16 to 2. Her 5 year old is Autistic and non verbal. I know she is struggling and feels like she is not doing a good enough job. When i look at her i see a super hero. She is doing an amazing job.
This is a great campaign. A nice positive promotion.
I like this idea. Good parents don’t get enough positive feedback. 🙂
This is such an important campaign. Sometimes as parents we are too hard on ourselves. We are doing better than good!
Oh, I love this campaign! I can completely relate to the back to school stresses… Particularly with three kids. I needed this reminder too.
I think I’m doing pretty good. We all hit bumps in the road but overall I think I’ve got this parenting thing down…finally. My kids might say otherwise here and there but at the end of the day we’re a tight group that loves each other and is there for each other every step of the way.
