The History of IPSY

IPSY was co-founded by YouTube beauty vlogger Michelle Phan, Marcelo Camberos, and Jennifer Jaconetti Goldfarb. The company's initial business model was tested in a beta site called myglam.com in December 2011. IPSY officially launched to the public in September 2012 as ipsy.com. In 2018, IPSY expanded its portfolio to two memberships with the introduction of a full-size program called Glam Bag Plus (now called BoxyCharm). 

In 2019, IPSY added Glam Bag Ultimate, a program featuring both full-size products and deluxe samples. The company also acquired BoxyCharm, a competitor in the beauty subscription space. IPSY merged with BoxyCharm in 2020 to create a new beauty subscription giant. The company rebranded as IPSY Offer in 2021, reflecting its expanded focus on offering beauty products beyond subscriptions. IPSY launched its Glam Base program in 2022, a more affordable subscription option with three beauty samples for $12 per month.

Today, IPSY is a leading beauty subscription service with over 5 million members.
