Island of Hvar in Croatia
The country of Croatia is composed of three regions: the historic Croatia-Slavonia region of the upper arm of the country, the Istrian Peninsula, located on the northern Adriatic coast, and Dalmatia which corresponds to the coastal strip. Croatia was settled in the seventh century by the Slavic tribe called Croats, who came from areas near what is now western Ukraine and Poland. Despite being under the rule of differing foreign powers for centuries, these areas retained their Western-oriented culture with a legacy of the Latin alphabet, Roman law, and the political and economic institutions and traditions of Western Europe. Croatia converted to Christianity between the 7th and 9th centuries and adopted the Roman alphabet. We hope that this Island of Hvar in Croatia post inspires you
