Serves 4
I've used cheese ravioli in this particular recipe, but feel free to substitute whatever you have on hand: sausage, veggie, or even pumpkin ravioli (found at some specialty stores), would work perfectly with this recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh cheese ravioli (I get mine from Costco)
- 1/4 cup salted butter (1 stick)
- 6 fresh sage leaves, roughly chopped + 1-2 leaves for garnish
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- salt to taste
Directions
- Begin by bringing a pot of water to boil until bubbles form on the surface of the water.
- Add the ravioli to the pot and allow it to cook for the duration of time specified on the package.
- As the ravioli cooks, take a large saucepan or stockpot and add a whole stick of butter to it. Heat the butter on low heat until it starts to bubble and turns a lovely shade of brown.
- Once the butter is heated, add crushed garlic to the pan and stir it around for about a minute until the aroma of garlic fills the air.
- Add sage and black pepper to the pan and continue cooking on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until the butter is nicely browned, but not burnt.
- Once the ravioli is cooked to perfection, drain it in a colander until all the excess water has been removed.
- Add the drained ravioli to the pan with the butter sauce and gently fold it in until every ravioli is coated in the sage butter sauce.
- Serve the ravioli hot, and if you like, top it off with some shredded parmesan cheese.
