Ways to Give Back to the Community
Ways to Give Back to the Community There’s no beating around the bush here — it’s been a hard couple of years. Virtual classes, remote work, socially distanced playdates, masks, and vaccines have all...
Last month I shared with you that I am part of this amazing campaign with Skinny Cow. So often the work that I do is all encompassing and that means that there is little time for myself. I work work work and when I am not working on my blog/social media company, I am with my children. There is not exactly a lot of alone time around here. I don't have a Woman Cave like my husband has a Man Cave.
That is why I was thrilled to be a part of the Skinny Cow WoCavé campaign this summer. This means that I will get to spend time doing some things that I love with some people that I never really get a chance to be alone with all that often.
This month I found my WoCavé through music.
Last week, my sister and I (plus a few other girlfriends) went to see Rob Thomas in concert. Growing up, we used to go to concerts all of the time. My sister and I loved that my dad was always so willing to take us to see pretty much any band or musician that we wanted to see. He loves music and so do we.
Fast forward about 20+ years later, three kids each, my sister rarely get to concerts anymore. And when we do, one of us is usually babysitting for the other one. Getting to go to a concert together is a rare treat and one that we fully took advantage of.
I am a huge Rob Thomas fan. I love him in Matchbox 20 and I love him on his own. So does my sister. I bought the tickets and made sitter arrangements plus dinner reservations.
We headed out for dinner first and then arrived at the concert just as Rob Thomas was about to go on (perfect timing):
We danced. We sang. We clapped. We probably screamed a little. By the end of the evening, my throat was raw and my hands hurt. That means we had a great time.
All throughout the concert, I was reminded of my childhood with my sister and seeing concerts. I knew I had found my WoCavé through music as I closed my eyes and just took in the moment during the middle of the concert. I felt the music and sang every song. As we stood cheering for an encore, I smiled because we had an absolutely wonderful evening.
As a surprise, when we got back to the car, I pulled out a cooler of Skinny Cow Limited Edition Snickerdoodle Sandwiches. Look at these things:
These are probably the most delicious ice cream sandwiches that I have ever had. They were the perfect ending to our evening. They even soothed our throats and as we toasted each other with the ice cream sandwiches, we promised to do this again. Very soon!

I love Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. They are the best!
What a cool experience and an excellent add to a summer’s worth of fun (as is some Skinny Cow). 🙂
We really had a great time, Liz. Thanks for coming by.
Wow, that sounds so fun. It’s been such a long time since I went to a great concert!! Love Skinny Cow goodies, too. They are my mommy-treats!
Me too, Crissy. I have to hide them in my freezer so no one else gets them.
Love Skinny Cow Ice cream!! And it looks like you had so much fun 🙂
We had a great time. Thanks for stopping by, Ashley!
A live concert and ice cream afterwards. What a winning combination! Not familiar with Rob Thomas, but I do love going to concerts!
Rob Thomas has a great voice and his music can span a few generations. Check him out if you get the chance.
I like Skinny Cow products. They taste great and are better for you. That picture is making me want one now!
Definitely try this one, Kari Ann. They are delicious.
Live music is an amazing escape. I dragged my husband to a Beyonce concert a few years ago. He didn’t want to go, but once we got there he had a blast.
I’ll look for these skinny cow sandwiches!
It really is Joyce. We are heading to Bruno Mars in a few weeks.
Definitely try the Skinny Cow.
Anything with snickerdoodle in the title works for me!
thanks,
Mitch
Seriously. Exact same thing for me. Thanks for stopping by, Mitch!
Ah, this sounds like so much fun! I love going to concerts – and love Rob Thomas too! Ice cream is the perfect way to end any night!
It really was a great evening. I love Rob Thomas AND ice cream.
We are a skinny cow family and I love that their products not only taste really great but are low cal- in fact we ONLY bought skinny cow stuff for my daughter to take with her to sleep away camp- and how cool that they are encouraging women to take time out for themselves- makes me love them EVEN MORE!
That is all we buy as well. I introduced my mother to them and now we have to hide them in our freezer because she loves them so much. LOL.
How fun! I love Rob Thomas, and I love Skinny Cow!
Yeah it was the perfect evening. Thanks for stopping by, Jodi!
Havent tried the sandwiches yet – you have me curious now! Shopping trip tomorrow!! 🙂
